This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:
7.2.x
Waterfall, also called a Profile Trend, can display profile or array-type data in a concise, viewable format. For example, a waterfall could display data coming from a scanner that traverses the width of a product as it is being made, where hundreds of data points could be collected simultaneously.
The unique features of a profile-type trend include:
- Plot position-based data from an array-type “profile” tag or from an explicit tag list. Profile tag information is configured in properties.
- Use the Waterfall Options panel to launch Run Browser and to see and modify the value to color mapping.
- Cross Direction (CD) and Machine Direction (MD) Charts summarize data by position and by time.
PARCSecurity Permissions
There are no Waterfall specific permissions. The permissions necessary to use the Waterfall display are the tag-based permissions to view the tags and the PARCview application permissions to open PARCview.
Configuration
Waterfall Configuration is part of the Trend configuration because the Waterfall is a modified Trend. To open Trend Properties, right-click on the plot area of the Trend and select Configure.
The Profile Tag Config tab has five sections: Tag Config, Bounding Colors, Range Mode, Profile Axis Config, and Miscellaneous.
Enabled: Allows the profile tag configuration to be edited and converts the Trend into a Waterfall.
Tag Browser: Opens Tag Browser.
Save Trend as Waterfall: If checked this file will be saved as the waterfall display file type. The file will have the Waterfall icon in PARCview Explorer. Also used to preserve legacy file path links.
Apply: Apply changes and leave Trend Properties open.
OK: Apply changes and close Trend Properties.
Log Files
PARCmessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.
