PortIO reads data from various sources (OPCDA, Serial, Socket or File) and sends it to PARChistory to be historized. If PortIO has access to the main server, files can be consumed directly by the historian. Otherwise, files can first be buffered locally, and then PortIO File Copy will copy them to the main server. PARCcalc Server requires a dedicated PortIO.
