Overwrite Record Value and Add Comment

Purpose: Practice changing the data displayed on the MDE, overwriting old values, and adding comments to values.

Task: Extend the start time filter one day into the past, overwrite a value, and then add a comment and save.

Steps:

1. To view MDE data outside of the display’s default time span, open the Start Time drop-down menu and extend the filter one day into the past. Click on the day prior to the currently selected (orange) day. Click OK.

   

2. Click the Refresh Data button.

   

3. Suppose an incorrect value was entered by mistake and needs to be changed. Select a cell and enter a new value.

   

4. Right-click the cell and select Add Comment.

   

5. Enter a comment indicating the value has been overwritten and click Update.

   

6. Click Save Data. Notice the cell has a purple triangle to indicate an associated comment.
