Article summary

Use the Time periods tab to configure custom time periods, such as a production day or a shift schedule.

Predefined

The Predefined option is for time periods that are not grouped.

Time Period: A drop-down list of implicit and database type time periods that do not belong to time groups. Custom time period names are configured on the Time Groups tab.

Start Date: Beginning of time range used to retrieve or generate periods.

End Date: End of time range used to retrieve or generate periods.

Retrieve: Pulls a list of previously generated time periods within the date range.

Generate: Opens the Generate Period Dates to generate new time periods.

Delete Range: Deletes the retrieved time periods.

Generate Time Periods

For the selected time period type, enter the start and end times (including time of day) of the range of time periods to generate. The length of the time period is implicit as defined by the period type.

Group

The Group option is for time periods that are grouped together, such that a certain sequence of time periods forms a repeating schedule with no gaps.

Time Group: A drop-down list of the Time Groups configured in the Time Groups tab.

Start Date: Beginning of time range used to retrieve or generate periods.

End Date: End of time range used to retrieve or generate periods.

Retrieve: Pulls a list of previously generated time periods within the date range.

Generate: Opens the Time Group Wizard window.

Delete Range: Deletes the retrieved time periods.

Time Group Wizard

End Date: The last interval to be created. The later the date, the more records in the database, but less is the need to maintain the time periods.

Cycle Grid: Enter a Start Date, End Date, and Period Type into each row in order to establish a pattern. There must be at least 2 rows to generate the pattern. For a crew schedule, one full schedule rotation needs to be entered.

Generate: Generates time periods based on the pattern established in the grid. The pattern will be repeated until the end date specified above.
