Initial Security Profiles

  • PDF

Article summary

There are three security profiles available for use initially:

Default: For configuration by user. The Everyone group comes with a base set of permissions for non-administrative users.

PVbasic: Groups equivalent to legacy password system.

UAbasic: A four-tier security model: Everyone, Operators, Power Users, Administrators.

To use the PVbasic or UAbasic security profiles, create PARCsecurity or Active Directory identities and add them to the appropriate groups. All three initial profiles can be modified by the user. For example, permissions on the groups may be changed, or additional groups may be created.

Note that although there are pre-configured identities that correspond to the initial security profiles, in that they already have permissions configured within the profiles, any identity can have permissions configured within any security profile (except administrator identities, which always have full access).
