00:00 ⟶ 00:04

In this video, we'll introduce the basic features of trend displays in Nexus.

00:04 ⟶ 00:09

A new trend display can be launched from the New button in the upper-right corner

of the Nexus Explorer.

00:10 ⟶ 00:14

Tags can be added to the display by dragging and dropping from Tag Browser.

00:16 ⟶ 00:24

New displays can also be launched from the Tag Browser options menu,

with the Trend selected button, and by double clicking on the tag row.

00:25 ⟶ 00:30

The timespan is shown on the X-Axis and can be adjusted with the footer controls.

00:30 ⟶ 00:38

The start and end times can be set with the Date Time Picker,

accessible in the left and right corners and in the plot area options menu.

00:38 ⟶ 00:44

Start and end times can also be updated by dragging the X-Axis to the left or right.

00:45 ⟶ 00:53

The timespan box shows the duration of the current timespan and can be adjusted

with the dropdown menu or by typing in the text box.

00:53 ⟶ 01:01

S, M, H, and D formats are accepted, standing for seconds, minutes, hours,

and days respectively.

01:02 ⟶ 01:07

The double arrows add one timespan to the future or past of the display.

01:07 ⟶ 01:11

The single arrows pan the data forwards or backwards in time by one timespan.

01:11 ⟶ 01:18

When the timespan is adjusted so that the display data is no longer current,

the current mode indicator will turn yellow.

01:20 ⟶ 01:28

The Undo button resets the timespan to the previous setting, and the Reset button

reverts the trend to the default timespan and start and end times.

01:29 ⟶ 01:32

The Tag Info Grid lists all tags in the trend display.

01:32 ⟶ 01:40

The color picker can be used to update the color of the tag's trace,

and the eyeball icon will toggle trace visibility on the plot area.

01:40 ⟶ 01:50

As in Tag Browser, column order can be adjusted  by dragging the column header,

and column width can be adjusted by  dragging the column divider or with the Column Selector.

01:55 ⟶ 02:00

Tags can be selected by clicking the row in the Tag Info Grid or the trace on the plot area.

02:00 ⟶ 02:04

The row in the trace of the selected tag will be highlighted on the display.

02:04 ⟶ 02:08

Each row in the grid, including the header, has its own options menu.

02:09 ⟶ 02:21

Cloned displays can be created from the options menus as well as by double-clicking the tag

in the Tag Info Grid to clone a single tag or anywhere in the plot area to clone the entire display.

02:22 ⟶ 02:34

Trend Configuration, accessible from all options menus and by right-clicking the X-Axis,

allows for adjustment  of additional display settings, including the refresh rate and Time Delta offset.

02:40 ⟶ 02:43

The Y-Axis shows the value ranges for the tags in the trend.

02:43 ⟶ 02:50

Each tag's value range is shown in the Min and Max fields of the Tag Info Grid and can be

modified by typing in the textboxes.

02:51 ⟶ 02:54

By default, the Y-Axis displays values for the selected tag.

02:54 ⟶ 03:03

This can be modified in the Y-Axis options menu to show all axes, stacked axes, or a common axis of a single tag.

03:04 ⟶ 03:10

If a Common Y-Axis is enabled, axis values will not change when a different tag is selected.

03:16 ⟶ 03:21

Enabling Common Auto Scale will adjust the Y-Axis to fit the specified tag's values in the trend.

03:26 ⟶ 03:32

The Tag Info Grid options menus can also be used to enable Auto Scale for a single tag or for all tags.

03:40 ⟶ 03:47

Dragging the Y-Axis up or down will pan the displayed values and update the Min and Max values of the selected tag.

03:48 ⟶ 03:55

The plot area options menu can be launched from the options button in the footer or by right-clicking on the plot area.

03:55 ⟶ 04:00

The options menu contains essential trend features, including SmartMouse and Quick Statistics.

04:00 ⟶ 04:04

Supported keyboard shortcuts are shown next to their respective feature.

04:04 ⟶ 04:09

The Zoom option will be enabled if a specific time period is selected in the plot area.

04:09 ⟶ 04:17

Zooming to a specific part of the trend can also be done by placing the cursor on the area of interest and

scrolling with the mouse wheel.

04:19 ⟶ 04:28

The File menu also contains essential features, including save options and Number of Trends,

which can be used to create multi-trend displays.

04:30 ⟶ 04:34
