In Nexus, Tag Browser is accessible anywhere the Tag Browser button is located,
including all display windows and the Nexus Explorer.
00:07 ⟶ 00:15
Note that popups may need to be allowed in the browser when launching
Tag Browser for the first time.
00:15 ⟶ 00:26
The Nexus Tag Browser displays all tags out of the process tags table.
00:21 ⟶ 00:25
The location of the listed tags can be adjusted with the Location dropdown in
the upper-left.
00:27 ⟶ 00:34
The topmost row in the tag list is a filter bar that allows for filtering by a
single column or by multiple columns simultaneously.
00:35 ⟶ 00:44
Additionally, unchecking the Filter by Column box implements a singular filter in the
first column that will filter all columns by a single entry.
00:46 ⟶ 00:49
Filters in Tag Browser support wild card matching.
00:49 ⟶ 01:00
The most commonly used wild card characters - asterisks, carrots, dollar signs, and question marks -
are described in the PARCview Manual and are included in the video notes.
01:03 ⟶ 01:09
Tags can be sorted by clicking on the column headers, with the arrows indicating
whether they are sorted ascending or descending.
01:09 ⟶ 01:17
The Tag Browser window can be independently resized to achieve the desired dimensions
or to view more or fewer columns.
01:17 ⟶ 01:21
Column order can also be adjusted by dragging and dropping the headers.
01:21 ⟶ 01:31
Column visibility can be configured with the Column Selector, which is accessible by
right-clicking any column header or by selecting the option column header.
01:32 ⟶ 01:37
In the Column Selector window, users can check or uncheck the boxes to show or hide
columns as well as set the column width.
01:43 ⟶ 01:46
Column width can also be adjusted by dragging the header dividers.
01:48 ⟶ 01:54
The options menu can be launched by selecting the option button in the rightmost column or by
right-clicking a tag row.
01:55 ⟶ 02:00
From the options menu, users can open Tag Info, trend the tag, and launch Tag Builder.
02:00 ⟶ 02:06
In addition to the options menu, there are a few other ways to add tags to trend displays from Tag Browser.
02:06 ⟶ 02:12
A single tag can be trended by double-clicking on the tag row and by dragging from Tag Browser onto a display.
02:15 ⟶ 02:26
Multiple tags can be trended by holding down the control key, clicking on multiple tag rows,
then dragging onto a display or clicking the Trend Selected button at the bottom of the Tag Browser window.
02:29 ⟶ 02:40
Multiple tags can also be trended by enabling the Select Multiple Tags option, checking the desired tag boxes,
then dragging onto a display or clicking the Trend Selected button.
02:46 ⟶ 02:49
Clicking the refresh button will reset the tag selection.
02:50 ⟶ 02:56
Finally, Tag Browser can be embedded in websites via iframes, where all of the same functions are supported.
