Run Browser Summary and Overview

This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:

Run Browser is a tool that allows users to view data over defined time periods (“runs”). The user supplies the run criteria, then Run Browser searches for the periods of time that fit that criteria. Most PARCview displays use Run Browser to display run-based data. Run browser is able to filter out data and can include user defined equations for showing or filtering data. Run browsers specific functionality changes depending on the display it is being used for.
PARCSecurity Permissions
The only required permissions from PARCsecurity Console that covers Run Browser is the ability to open PARCview. If you can open PARCView and trend tags, you will be able to use the Run Browser.
Configuration
Most Run Browser Configuration is handled in the tool itself, but some can be found in System Configuration area.

The System Configuration Tabs allow you to set defaults and configure your overall Run Browser.
System Defaults
Run Browser: This area is dedicated to setting a maximum number of days to look for specific data.
Log Files
PARCmessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.
Errors can also be stored in the PARCview install directory both on the server and clients ...\Capstone\PARCView\LogFiles
Required Server Applications
PARCRollup Server: The run browser is able to select rollup runs as a criteria to show data. This requires the Rollup server to be running to generate those rollup runs.
UA Server: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.
GDS: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
