PARCtask Server Summary and Overview

This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:
7.2.x
The PARCtask Server executes the workflows created with the PARCtask Workflow Designer.
PARCSecurity Permissions
PARCsecurity Console should be configured for the following permissions for rights to add and edit Task Workflows
- Allow Workflow Edit – Allows users to run PARCtask Workflow Designer
- Allow Workflow Schedule – Allows users to schedule workflows from PARCview
Configuration
- Workflow Log - A list of workflows showing if each one is enabled, when it was loaded, the status of the workflow, any errors that occurred, and when it was compiled.
- All Executions - Lists all workflow executions.
- Server Log - Lists all times that PARCtask Server was running.
- Server Options – Contains settings for Polling Cycle Interval, Server Command Polling Cycle Interval, Default Execution Timeout, Shut Down Execution Timeout, Force Shut Down Timeout, Trigger Queue Size, Server Queue Size, Minimum Number of Threads, Maximum Number of Threads. Also shows PARCview Hosts, which are the PARCtask PARCview Hosts.
- Reload - Reload the data displayed in the log lists.
- Execution Details – Shows the step details for the currently selected workflow.
- Workflow Log (right side) – Shows the workflow log for the currently selected workflow.
- Trigger Log – Shows the trigger log for the currently selected workflow.
Log Files
PARCmessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.
PARCtask specific errors will be stored on the server in the PARCtask install path:
...\Capstone\PARCtask\LogFiles
Errors can also be stored in the PARCview install directory both on the server and clients ...\Capstone\PARCView\LogFiles
Required Server Applications
PARCtask Server: Executes PARCtask workflows
PARCtask PARCview Host: Renders displays from PARCview for use in PARCtask Server.
UA Server: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.
GDS: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
