Configuration File Settings

The default configuration of PARCtag Sync will read up to three sources at once, but that number can be changed in PARCtagSync.exe.config. The option that needs to be updated is called “maxUpdateThreads”, and appears as follows

Setting the maxUpdateThreads to a larger value may reduce the time to update all of the tag lists, but can also consume significant CPU and memory on both the server running PARCtag Sync as well as the servers hosting the data sources. If a site’s servers are already under considerable load or PARCtag Sync is logging errors trying to update tag lists, try setting maxUpdateThreads to 1.
