PARCtag Sync is used to synchronize tag information from various data sources with the PARCview configuration database. These data sources may include SQL Template-based sources, other historians such as PI or IP21, or Excel. Tags must exist in the PARCview database in order to appear in the Master tab in Tag Browser. Adding limits or alarms to a tag will automatically add the tag to the PARCview database if the tag is not already in the database. PARCtag Sync can be used to automatically add, update, and disable tags in the PARCview database to keep them consistent with the underlying tag historians. Changes in the underlying tag historian such as descriptions, units, plot minimum and maximum, and deactivation will automatically update in PARCview. These actions can be scheduled to run automatically or on demand. PARCtag Sync is typically run as a service in Fire Daemon.
