This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:
7.2.x
PARCIO is a PARCserver application that reads time series data from multiple sources, including OPCDA, OPCHDA, flat files and PARCcalc Server instances, and then sends that time-based data to PARChistory.
PARCSecurity Permissions
PARCIO has no related PARCsecurity permissions.
Configuration
PARCIO configuration will vary depending on the type of source that PARCIO is collecting from. See the help manual topics for:

- OPC HDA Source Configuration
- Flat File Source Configuration
- PARCcalc Server Source Configuration
PARCIO also has some additional configuration options in the PARCIO.exe.config.
Log Files
PARCMessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCMessage is running.
PARCIO specific errors will be stored on the server in the PARCIO installation path: ...\Capstone\PARCIO\LogFiles
Required Server Applications
There are no other required server applications to be running other than the UA server which is required for all PARCview and PARCserver applications to function.
UA Server: All PARCview version 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.
GDS: All PARCview version 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
