PARCenterpriseManager.exe Summary and Overview

This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:
7.2.x
PARCenterpriseManager.exe is a dataPARC client application that allows the monitoring and interaction of local and remote PARCserver applications. PARCenterpriseManager.exe is in the PARCView Client folder. This is separate from the PARCEnterpriseManagerServer. The following are features that are supported in the Enterprise Manager:
- View all Server Applications in a Location configured in a Local PARCview system configuration.
- Add Applications tied to a remote Location though a DSN.
- Disable viewing of specific locations, and applications in either remote or local locations.
- View IP address, Last Heartbeat, Start Time, Last Error Time, Last Error Message, exe Date, Version, and Associated Tags for a specific application.
- Remote connections to computers running applications.
- Service status for each application.
- Ability to Restart, Stop, Start applications for which the user has service access rights on the target machine.
- Trend Application Specific tags in either an independent window or a panel in the main Enterprise Console Window.
PARCSecurity Permissions
PARCsecurity Console has a permission setting for access to the PARCenterpriseManager application.
- Launch PARCEnterpriseManager: Enable user to launch PARCEnterpriseManager.exe
If the user’s Windows Login does not have access to the servers where the dataPARC apps are running this can limit the functionality of the PARCEnterpriseManager application.
Configuration
All PARCEnterpriseManager.exe configuration is managed directly from the PARCEnterpriseManager.exe application.
Configure: The configuration of RDP, VNC, and Remote connection options to servers running dataPARC services.
Configure Location: Allows the Adding, Deleting, and Editing of service location information. This includes the ability to make them inactive.
Edit Location System Config: Open the System Configuration for the given location.
Log Files
PARCmessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.
Errors can also be stored in the PARCview install directory both on the server and clients ...\Capstone\PARCView\LogFiles
Other errors will be stored in the root folder of the PARCEnterpriseManagerServer …\Capstone\PARCEnterpriseManagerServer
Required Server Applications
UA Server: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.
GDS: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
