The Nexus Explorer is the landing page for the application from which all Nexus

features can be accessed. In this video, we'll navigate through its key components.

00:09 ⟶ 00:11

The menu in the upper left displays your username, which also functions as the

Log Out button if Common Login is not enabled.

00:16 ⟶ 00:19

If Common Login is enabled, there will not be a log out option.

00:20 ⟶ 00:24

Client Configuration contains settings specific to the user or PC.

00:24 ⟶ 00:29

In the Client Configuration window, you can adjust the display time zone and

application theme.

00:29 ⟶ 00:34

Changing the theme will impact the appearance of both the Nexus Explorer and

the displays.

00:34 ⟶ 00:42

Aside from Client Configuration settings and any specified file permissions,

the Nexus Explorer will have the same appearance for all users.

00:43 ⟶ 00:45

The folder tree on the left shows the display folders.

00:45 ⟶ 00:53

If the Home Displays feature is utilized, Home Displays will be listed at the top

and the first display will be shown when the Nexus Explorer is opened.

00:54 ⟶ 00:59

Otherwise, the first display folder will be selected and its contents will be shown

on the file list to the right.

01:00 ⟶ 01:09

The folder tree can be resized by dragging the section bar, and visibility can be toggled

by double-clicking the section bar or clicking the collapse button.

01:09 ⟶ 01:16

Selecting a folder on the file tree will expand the tree to show the folder contents

and allow navigation into subfolders.

01:16 ⟶ 01:21

Clicking the arrow to the left of the folder will also expand or collapse its contents.

01:21 ⟶ 01:29

Folders and files can be opened by double-clicking on the file list and from the

options menu, which can be launched with a left click or from the options button.

01:30 ⟶ 01:33

From the options menu you can also delete or rename the item.

01:35 ⟶ 01:42

Your current location in the folder structure is shown on the breadcrumb

trail at the top of the file list and is highlighted on the folder tree.

01:42 ⟶ 01:48

Sorting can be performed by clicking on the column headers, with folders and files

being sorted independently.

01:48 ⟶ 01:53

The arrow next to the header indicates whether the column is sorted ascending or descending.

01:53 ⟶ 01:57

The filter bar can be used to filter by name, date modified, or both.

01:57 ⟶ 02:07

Filtering applies from the selected folder downwards. If the results don't return an expected

item, make sure you are initiating the search from the correct parent folder.

02:07 ⟶ 02:16

Saved files can be moved to a different location by dragging and dropping.

Alternatively, use Save As to save a copy of the file to a new location.

02:22 ⟶ 02:25

New display windows can be launched with the New button in the upper-right.

02:25 ⟶ 02:31

The Add button allows you to create new folders and trend files within the

current folder tree location.

02:33 ⟶ 02:40

Finally, selecting the Tag Browser button will launch Tag Browser, which is also

accessible from all display types.
