This information is specific to the latest release of PARCview:

7.2.x


There are a variety of Charts available to use in PARCview. Some are available as normal dataPARC displays such as: Histogram, X/Y, Trends, Tabular, and Pareto. The dataPARC Excel Add-in also has most of these built-in and some not available elsewhere which include Cross Correlation, CuSum, and MSR. Detailed information about each chart can be found in the dataPARC Manual.

Histogram: Produces a chart on the distribution of different values.

X/Y: Produces a scatter plot with a linear fit comparing two tags.

Trend: Produces a plot of the tag’s values over time.

Tabular: Shows tag data in a table format including integrated statistics.

Pareto: Is a type of alarm event report that summarizes alarm event data by assigned reason.

Cross Correlation: Cross correlates all columns to determine which values are correlated.

CuSum: A cumulative sum of a tag over the time-period specified.

MSR: Produces a chart of the Maximum Sustainable Rate at a specified percentage.


PARCSecurity Permissions

PARCsecurity Console will need to have the following permissions enabled for basic access to the Charts in PARCview.

  • Launch PARCview - Grants access to the PARCview application.


Configuration

Each Chart will have its own configuration options with the Excel Charts behaving much like the Displays, but with less features or configuration options. Refer to the specific Chart’s manual for more detail.


Log Files

PARCmessage is a built-in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.

Errors can also be stored in the PARCview install directory both on the server and clients ...\Capstone\PARCView\LogFiles


Required Server Applications

UA Server: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.

GDS: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
