This is the Category list used for grouping Reasons and Alarm definitions.


PARCSecurity Permissions

PARCsecurity Console should be configured for the following permissions for rights to add and edit Alarm Reasons.

  • System Config Reason/Evidence/Category - Grants access to the Reason, Evidence and Category tabs in System Configuration.
  • Allow Alarm Event Edits - Enables user to modify Alarm Event, including adding a Reason to an existing Alarm Event.


Configuration

System Configuration Reason Tab allows you to set Define and Configure your Reason Alarm list.

Four Categories are included by default. Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, and Process. These can be modified or deleted. To add more categories, click the bottom line with the *, then add your category and save.

It is also possible to group categories on the Evidence tab.


Log Files

PARCmessage is a build in error monitoring software. It creates an ongoing log of errors generated from PARCview on the specific computer where PARCmessage is running.

Alarm Server specific errors will be stored on the server in the PARCalarmServer install path ...\Capstone\PARCAlarmServer\LogFiles

Errors can also be stored in the PARCview install directory both on the server and clients ...\Capstone\PARCView\LogFiles


Required Server Applications

PARCAlarm Server: The server application generates Alarm events based on the Alarm Rules defined in the Alarm Configuration area.

UA Server: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Universal Access (UA) server.

GDS: All PARCview vr 7 functionality requires a Global Discovery Server (GDS).
