Basic Configuration Column Descriptions

Fields marked with a (*) are required for all sources and field with a (⁺) are required or recommended for OPC tags.

Tag Name*⁺: The name of the tag. It is used to form the unique name of the tag in the system: LocationName.SourceName.TagName.

Description*⁺: The longer description of the tag. This Defaults to Tag Name if left blank.

Units: The units for the tag.

Min*⁺: The Plotting Minimum for the tag. The default is 0.

Max*⁺: The Plotting Maximum for the tag. The default is 100.

Active Tag*⁺: This can be set to True or False. If set to False, the tag will not appear in the tag browser, nor will data be collected for that tag. This setting cannot be applied to MDE or Stock Tracking tags. The tag's data will still exist and will be accessible by the tag name if already configured in a display or report. The default is True.

Visible Tag*+: This can be set to True or False. If set to false, the tag will not appear in the tag browser but data will still be collected for the tag. The default is True.
